The Department of Cardiology diagnoses and treats diseases of the heart, blood vessels connected to the heart, and pericardium covering the heart as well as other chronic diseases such as high blood pressure resulting from abnormal blood flows.

The circulatory system consists of the heart that pumps out blood, which is the most important thing to supply oxygen and nutrients to the body, and blood vessels that delivery blood from the heart to the body. In modern society, cardiovascular disease is increasing from day to day due to the enhanced standard of living and westernized life patterns.

The Chung-Ang University Hospital Department of Cardiology is operating the Angina Pectoris Clinic, Heart Failure/Cardiomyopathy Clinic, and Rare Disease/Gene Clinic for effective treatment, systematic management, and best-quality medical care services. The clinics find and modulate the causes and exacerbating factors of diseases and aim at improvement of symptoms. In addition, we actively introduce new facilities and treatments in order to take the lead in the field of cardiovascular disease.
