The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine is responsible for anesthesia management for surgical patients, care of ICU patients, and pain management.

In general, anesthesia inclusively represents loss of perception, sensory block, motor block, and reflex block as Dr. Woodbridge suggested. It is a type of medical practice that continuously monitors the patient’s condition and provides multi-care using proper drugs so that the patient’s optimized physiological condition is maintained for surgery. Anesthesia is divided into general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and local anesthesia.

We conduct a preoperative visit in order to resolve the curiosity and anxiety of patients waiting for surgery and to evaluate their physical condition. We monitor patients and conduct safe anesthesia management with hi-tech anesthesia equipment during surgery. In addition, we are doing our best to reduce patients’ pain after surgery.

Lastly, we diagnose and treat various types of pain such as acute pain, chronic pain, and cancer pain. For this, we are operating the Pain Clinic.
