The Department of Orthodontics provides orthodontic treatment using fixed or removable (functional) devices or surgical orthodontic treatment
for malocclusion showing abnormalities in dentition or skeletal muscles for patients of different ages from children to adults.
This treatment is generally provided for elementary school students who have both dens lacteus (milk teeth) and permanent teeth to induce the eruption of permanent teeth, correct several teeth, or control the growth of prognathism or short chin.
This treatment aims to improve tooth arrangement and facial form and secure some space for prostheses. Dental extraction, treatment periods, and devices vary depending on the patient’s condition.
This type of orthodontic treatment follows orthognathic surgery for skeletal malocclusion such as prognathism, bimaxillary prognathism, short chin, and facial asymmetry. It sometimes requires preoperative orthodontic treatment or dental extraction.
